We often heard news about the glasses, Google Glass, Enterprise Edition, but recently the rumors have stopped leak and it could be assumed that the company has frozen the development of this device. This view is mistaken, YouTube has a video demonstrating the new.




Videos uploaded by 9to5Google website, introduces us to a set of Google Glass, Enterprise Edition. On the box only one label Glass. The model number is “GG1”, and its FCC ID is “A4R-GG1”.



The contents of the box includes the device itself, the glasses, charging cable, and quick guide that will tell about the functions of points. Judging by the video, the charging cable made of high quality materials. In this version of Google Glass there is no support for USB-C, is used instead of USB-A. workmanship points improved compared to the previous model. There is support for 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, the device is equipped with a speaker. Also the front has an LED indicator which inform the user of the camera. The device uses Intel Atom processor, 32 GB internal memory and battery capacity of 780 mAh.


The software remained unchanged. In system preferences you can see the battery indicator, status of wireless technologies Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and more — all made in the style of the previous model of Google Glass.


We have no information about whether Google Glass Enterprise Edition to be produced EN masse.

“Wavefunction” is a kinetic sculpture comprised of fifty to one hundred Charles and Ray Eames molded chairs (designed in 1948) and placed in a regular array of rows, facing the entrance to the exhibition space. When someone approaches the work, a computerised surveillance system detects their presence and the closest chairs automatically begin to lift off the ground, creating the crest of a wave that then spreads over the whole room.

Премьер-министр Доминики Рузвельт Скеррит во вторник заявил, что ураган “Мария” разрушил на острове “все, что только можно купить за деньги”.
На своей странице в фейсбуке он написал: “Порывы ветра снесли крыши домов почти всех, с кем мне удалось пообщаться. Крыша моей официальной резиденции была одной из первых, которая была снесена”.
По его словам, ураган “опустошил” Доминику. Премьер обратился к “дружественным странам” с просьбой оказать помощь жителям Доминики в ликвидации последствий стихии.
“Главное, на чем мы сосредотачиваемся сейчас, заключается в спасении тех, кто оказался заблокирован в результате урагана, а также в оказании помощи пострадавшим”, – отметил премьер Доминики.
“Больше всего я опасаюсь, что утром мы узнаем о серьезно пострадавших и, возможно, погибших из-за возможных оползней, которые могут начаться из-за постоянных ливней”, – написал он после того, как его спасли.
Все порты и аэропорты острова закрыты, жителям прибрежной полосы было отдано распоряжение об эвакуации в специально оборудованные убежища.Сильный ветер повалил многочисленные деревья и линии электропередачи. Без электроэнергии остались все жители острова. Сильные дожди местами вызвали наводнения.
О жертвах пока не сообщается.


Сильно пострадал и крупнейший город Гваделупы Пуэнт-а-Питр. Многие улицы затоплены, ветер вырвал деревья с корнем и разрушил многие дома. На французской Мартинике также уже есть разрушения от урагана, но они не такие значительные. Без электроэнергии остались 30 тыс. домов, однако серьезного ущерба не наблюдается. Два человека получили легкие травмы.


Ранее урагану “Мария” была присвоена наивысшая – пятая – категория мощности по шкале Саффира-Симпсона. В течение вторника он ослабевал до четвертой категории, однако вскоре вновь усилился до самого высокого уровня.

Фрагменты сосуда со стихами на фарси этим летом обнаружили при раскопках на Биржевой площади. Почти два месяца понадобилось ученым, чтобы понять смысл древних виршей. В стихах говорится о радости дружеского застолья.
Ученые перевели с фарси стихи, вычеканенные на фрагментах персидской бронзовой чаши XVI века. Их обнаружили во время археологических раскопок на Биржевой площади в Москве минувшим летом. Раскопки проводились в рамках программы городского благоустройства «Моя улица». Фрагменты сосуда находились в деревянном срубе на глубине трех метров под землей. Вместе с частями бронзовой чаши там были найдены предметы вооружения (боевой топор, шлем, фрагмент кольчуги) и монеты времен Ивана Грозного и Василия Шуйского. Артефакты датировали второй половиной XVI — началом XVII века. Но их изучение еще продолжается.
«С каждой новой находкой мы узнаем чуть больше об истории нашего города, о том, какие люди населяли его много веков назад, об их быте, увлечениях. Уже в те далекие годы Москва обладала всеми признаками мегаполиса своего времени, объединяя интересы людей из разных государств — как торговые, так и культурные», — рассказал руководитель Департамента культурного наследия Москвы Алексей Емельянов.
Предположительная родина чаши — Персия, на территории которой располагается современный Иран. Найденный сосуд расколот на несколько частей, сохранилось примерно 75 процентов его поверхности. Поэтические строки располагались на верху чаши, прочитать их было сложно, так как они напоминали декоративный узор на поверхности сосуда, практически сливались с ним. Тем не менее специалисты Музея Востока смогли не только разобрать вязь, но и перевести ее на русский язык:
«Виночерпий, светом вина озари нашу чашу,
Певец, спой, что дела мира пошли по нашему желанию.
Мы в нашей чаше видим отражение лица друга,
О не знающий наслаждения нашего непрестанного пьянства!
Никогда не умрет тот, чье сердце оживлено любовью,
Записана в тетради мироздания наша вечность.
До тех пор продолжается кокетство и величание стройных станом».
Установлено, что строки принадлежат персидскому поэту Хафизу Ширази (около 1325 — 1389–1390 год). Он жил на юге Ирана и в разное время при разных правителях занимал должность придворного поэта. Произведения Ширази широко известны в мировой литературе. Его имя стоит в одном ряду с именами Омара Хайяма, Низами, Саади и других персидских поэтов. Любимой строфой Ширази была газель — особая форма лирического стихосложения, популярная на Востоке. В России можно встретить сборники Ширази в переводе Виктора Полещука.
Сейчас археологи занимаются изучением и реставрацией чаши. Работы продлятся до конца этого года. Части сосуда свяжут между собой при помощи лазерной сварки. Недостающие фрагменты будут изготовлены из полимерных материалов. После реставрации чаша войдет в состав экспозиции Музея Москвы, посвященной археологическим находкам программы «Моя улица». В музее ее смогут увидеть все желающие.
Части персидской чаши со стихами, а также другие артефакты, найденные во время работ по программе «Моя улица» и строительству парка «Зарядье», продемонстрировали в археологическом музее «Зарядья» во время официального открытия парка 9 сентября.

Located on the north side of Baffin Island in the Qikqtani Region of Nunavut Canada, the Mary River Project is one of the most isolated open pit mining sites in the world. Here winter temperatures average at -30 degrees Celsius and between November and January there is a 24-hour darkness. The site contains four iron ore deposits of which no. 1 has a total strike length of4 km, containing no less than 365 million tons of ore with <64% iron (mostly hematite and magnetite). The iron here is so pure that it needs no chemical processing and can be shipped and crushed right away. Supposedly, this has less impact on the environment. Ores are obtained by blasting ‘’12 diameter blast holes. So far more than 200 drill holes have been made over an area of 30km. Around 130,000 tons of ore has been shipped to Europe.

Four thieves broke into a Latin Catholic Church in the Beyoglu district of Istanbul, stealing a number of religious artefacts on Sept. 15 but were caught later in the day.

Two of the thieves managed to break into the Catholic Church in the Karakoy neighbourhood from a derelict building behind the church after initially failing to enter the shrine from the front door at around 7:30 a.m. The other two had been watching the surroundings for any threat to their robbery attempt.


The thieves later took the religious artefacts outside the church and loaded them into vehicles, which included a statue, a cross, many paintings and several religious books.


Meanwhile, police examined city surveillance cameras around the scene, determining the vehicles they used in the attempt and their subsequent addresses.


The four, identified only as Osman Adnan K., Adem H., Bekir M. and Karim M., of Uzbek-origin, were detained at three different addresses in the Zeytinburnu district.


They pleaded guilty and said they had sold a carpet stolen from the church to an auctioneer in Beyoglu. It was later taken back before being sold.


While performing a search at their addresses, police also seized books and symbols, which had previously been stolen from different churches.


Their proceedings at the police headquarters have been ongoing.


In addition, the Catholic Church had reportedly been closed for five years due to renovations.

When radio galaxies collide, supermassive black holes form tightly bound pairs

A study using multiple radio telescopes confirms that supermassive black holes found in the centers of galaxies can form gravitationally bound pairs when galaxies merge.



The paper published in the Sept. 18 issue of Nature Astronomysheds light on a class of black holes having a mass upwards of one million times the mass of the sun. Supermassive black holes are expected to form tightly bound pairs following the merger of two galaxies.

The Sun’s recent activity has caught the interest of scientists and space weather forecasters worldwide, highlighting the need to keep a watchful eye on our star and its awesome power.


On 6 and 10 September, our Sun produced a pair of solar flares, the strongest observed in over 10 years. They were accompanied by huge eruptions of billions of tonnes of matter into space.



Mass ejection seen by SOHO

While many such eruptions fall back onto the hot surface, these two did not and became ‘coronal mass ejections’ (CMEs) – clouds of electrically charged atomic particles escaping the Sun and expanding into interplanetary space.


This cloud containing protons, electrons and heavy ions can be detected by sensors on satellites around our planet and on probes in interplanetary space.


The flares and accompanying CMEs burst out of an ‘active region’ on the Sun’s photosphere, which is the surface we see from Earth.


“Appearance of this active region producing strong flares and several CMEs was very interesting after months of very low solar activity,” says Juha-Pekka Luntama, responsible for space weather within ESA’s Space Situational Awareness office.


“Although these eruptions are very difficult to predict, and the active region that produced these events has now rotated around to the far side of the Sun, we are keeping watch on the situation, particularly when the active region rotates back into view.”


First big event


The first eruption occurred on 6 September, and produced a severe geomagnetic storm when it reached Earth on the evening of 7 September. Its arrival was detected by a number of ESA and NASA spacecraft watching our Sun or orbiting Earth.

The arrival also gave rise to increased auroras on 7 and 8 September, visible as far south as northern Germany in Europe and the northern USA in North America.


The flare and CME were accompanied by a flood of energetic atomic particles from the Sun. These could be detected by satellites in orbit, but not at ground level owing to the shielding effect of our atmosphere.


Second big event


The second eruption occurred on 10 September (see video above). This was associated with a large solar flare that also emitted a strong pulse of X-rays and a flood of extremely high-speed protons, some travelling near to the speed of light.


This CME was faster than the first one, but it, too, travelled off the direct Sun–Earth path and only a tail end of it washed across our planet on 12 September.


This event caused a strong increase in energetic particles, with increased levels of radiation detected at Earth’s surface by monitoring networks, and a moderate geomagnetic storm was observed on 12 and 13 September.


Effects on satellites and communications


The radiation that arrived in advance of the second CME was sufficient to cause the navigation cameras on some satellites to be temporarily blinded, and was expected to disrupt radio communications temporarily at high latitudes.


In one case, ESA’s Integral satellite, an orbiting gamma-ray observatory whose instrument electronics are especially sensitive to radiation, had to rely on its onboard autonomy to configure its instruments into a ‘safe mode’, to wait until radiation levels fell.

“Our instruments were off during one 64-hour revolution, which unfortunately meant that we lost some high-priority observing time,” says Integral operations manager Richard Southworth. “They instruments were reactivated with no sign of damage.”


ESA’s Gaia star mapper also experienced some comparatively minor effects.

“Gaia’s telescope temporarily experienced a very high number of ‘false’ star detections, which resulted in correspondingly data generation and some small variations in the spacecraft’s attitude,” says operations manager David Milligan.


“The false detections can be removed from the data catalogue and Gaia continues working very well.”


Keep an eye on the Sun


The second event was also notable because it emanated from an active region on the Sun that had already rotated across the disc as seen from Earth, and disappeared out of view very soon afterwards.


“We have no spacecraft on that side of the Sun to keep an eye on current activity,” says Juha-Pekka.


“What we really need are more ways to view the side of the Sun that is rotating to face Earth, which would enable us to improve our forecasting and predictions.”


ESA is already defining a future mission to the Sun that would improve our space weather monitoring and forecasting capability.

Network sources have revealed the plans of HTC to release a smartphone by the end of this year: it is reported that the company is preparing at least three new items.



The devices appear under the code names of Ocean Master, Ocean Harmony and the Ocean Lite. They all make their debut in the last quarter of this year.



It is known that the Ocean Master model will get a touchscreen display sized 6 inches diagonally. That is, the device will be classified as phablet. Panel resolution is not specified. Refers to the presence of cameras with 12 – and 8-megapixel matrix.


Ocean Master will be offered in two versions. Junior will get 4 GB of RAM and flash module with a capacity of 64 GB. A more powerful version will carry on Board 6 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 128 GB.


Smartphones Ocean Lite and Ocean Harmony, in turn, will equip 4GB of RAM and flash module with a capacity of 64 GB. The model Ocean Lite will get a display size of 5.2 inches diagonally, the machine Ocean Harmony — 6 inches.



The announcement of Ocean Master and Ocean Lite, according to available information, will be held in November this year. Unit Ocean Harmony will debut a month later in December.


According to estimates, in the second quarter of this year on a global scale have been implemented 366,2 million smartphones. This is approximately a 6.7% increase compared to the result for the second quarter of last year, when the volume of supplies was equal to of 343.4 million units.
